SASSA Takes Expert Services to Fernie Community

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently traveling to the Fernie two Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render services to the community.

SASSA is going to be rendering solutions which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, along with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency mentioned it is alarmed about the substantial quantity of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The aim with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some significant quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no completely functional office devoted to service the area every website day. The assistance point developed for intervention activities a high inflow of opportunity beneficiaries, which makes it complicated for the office to attend to all people who check out a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra sources to allow the servicing of all prospects and increase use of Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
